We meet on the second Thursday evening each month to plan and pray about how we can come alongside and support our brothers and sisters in Christ who are impacted by incarceration. The U.S. incarcerates more individuals per capita than any other country and disproportionately incarcerates the poor and people of color. We seek to:
- Learn how we might partner in advocacy/policy work for a more just and proportionate system
- Support those currently incarcerated, through spiritual formation opportunities and materials
- Find opportunities to come alongside their families
- Attend Restorative Breakfasts that put us in proximity with recently released "returning citizens"
- Bring awareness to our church community through occasional book studies or film showings
