Hospice Myths & Misconceptions

Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church is presenting a program on Hospice Myths and Misconceptions on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 1PM in the Fellowship Hall Meeting Room. The program is sponsored by Hospice of the West.

Hospice of the West offers community education through its programs, which focus on topics like healthy eating for patients, palliative care and end-of-life planning. This enlightening program will focus on the myths and misconceptions of hospice care.

Some common misconceptions about hospice include it means giving up, it’s only for cancer patients, and it’s a place you have to go. There are many other untruths that keep people from participating in the reality of improving quality of life that hospice can provide. Come learn about the myths and misconceptions about hospice and find the true help and comfort it can provide patients and families.
