6th-8th Grade: Devonshire Basketball League Registration (2026-2027)

This winter, 2026-2027, Devonshire Church is providing a youth basketball league that is available to middle school boys in grades 6-8.

Our program offers boys the opportunity to learn and enjoy basketball in a safe, supportive, and fun environment that supports athletic and team skill development and builds Christlike character. We believe that players will have fun learning the rules, strategies, and fundamentals of the game of basketball while developing and strengthening important life skills and personal character traits such as:
Responsibility, Teamwork, Communication, Leadership

COST

Before October 1: $100 (includes the cost of T-shirt, practice times, 10 weeks of recreational basketball games, and other league fees)

October 1 and after: $125 per player (includes the cost of T-shirt, practice times, 10 weeks of recreational basketball games, and other league fees)

AGES: Grades 6-8

REGISTRATION DATES: October 1 – November 7

*Early Registration September 14-September 30.

LEAGUE PLAY & PLAYOFF DATES: December 5 – March 6

Player Evaluation Day will be held on November 18.

It is not a tryout, as all registered players will be drafted to a team. Players unable to attend the evaluation, or those who register late, will be placed on a team at the director’s discretion.

Practice times will most likely be Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday evening for 45 minutes to an hour between 5:30pm and 9:30 pm.

Game times will be on Saturday mornings.

Is there a deadline to sign up?
The registration period is from October 1 to November 6. There are limited spots. Once we reach capacity for a division we will begin a waitlist.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Please wear comfortable tennis/basketball sneakers that won’t scuff up the gym floor.

Please bring a ball & remember to put your name on it.

Practices will begin with prayer and a brief devotional.

Games will open with prayer.

*We do not offer refunds except for the season being canceled. If a catastrophic injury happens or you are moving out of the area, you can email and ask for special consideration due to exigent circumstances.

**If a refund is necessary, there will be a $25 administrative fee.

We expect all our players, coaches, parents, and fans to conduct themselves in a way that demonstrates good sportsmanship. No one is allowed to badger or talk trash to players, coaches, referees, or other fans. We are all human and we all make mistakes from time to time, but we want to ensure we are always setting the right example for our players who are always watching how we handle each situation.
