We believe in child/baby dedications because children ultimately belong to God. This is a time for parents to publicly acknowledge His sovereignty over their child’s life (Psalm 127:3; 1 Samuel 1:27–28). Dedicating a child reflects a parental commitment to raise the child in the instruction and ways of the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:6–7; Ephesians 6:4), and it expresses our church’s partnership with parents in nurturing the child’s spiritual formation until they personally profess faith in Christ (Proverbs 22:6; Matthew 28:19–20).
Participation by at least one parent in a brief, virtual parental class is required before babies are dedicated.
