Deacon Nomination - Step One

  - Prayerfully seek God’s guidance before nominating

Remember that this is not a popularity contest. We are seeking the Lord for men gifted with leadership skills, hearts to serve and humble character who are team players. Understand the importance, privilege and responsibility these men will hold who will serve as deacons.

Deacon Nomination - Step Two

  - Read the qualifications for a deacon as listed in 1 Timothy 3:8-13

  • “men of dignity” (well respected)
  • “not double-tongued”
  • “or addicted to much wine”
  • “or fond of sordid gain” (not greedy or financially unethical)
  • “but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience” (doctrines taught in the Bible)
  • “let these also be first tested” (proven himself in character and service)
  • “beyond reproach” (clean reputation as a Godly, Christian man)
  • “his wife, if he’s married, should “be dignified, not malicious gossips, but temperate, faithful in all things”
  • “husband of only one wife” (if married, married once, never divorced)
  • “good managers of their children”
  • good managers “of their own households”

Deacon Nomination - Step Three

  - Read the qualifications for a deacon as listed in Acts 6:1-7

  • “good reputation”
  • “full of the Spirit”
  • “full of wisdom”
  • responsible leader “whom we may put in charge of this task”
  • desire to assist the pastors and church leadership so that they can “devote themselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word”

Deacon Nomination - Step Four

  - Note the following men are currently serving as either Deacon Team or Oversight Team members and should not be nominated.

Oversight Team: Erik Eloe, Mike Hoorelbek, John Diggle III | Deacon Team: Ryan Anderson, Pete Brandau, Eric Cramer, Callebe Gomes, John Hall, Rick Huseman, Adam Johnson, Marco King, Mike Lamonica, Matt Leach, Brian Madderom, Cris Pradel, Neal Rozema, Ken Schneider, Shular Scudamore.

Deacon Nomination - Step Five

  - Nominate up to four men that God has placed on your heart as being gifted with the qualifications provided in scripture and listed above.
