| If You Want to Walk on Water... |
Scripture: Matthew 15:21-28
Our current message series is focused on miracles and controversy. So far, we have looked at some miracles, and we’ve looked at some controversy, but today we get both! This Sunday’s passage presents both a miracle and a controversy, or perhaps we should say a controversial miracle. This miracle is controversial, not because of what Jesus did but because of whom he did it for. Up to this time Jesus’ miracles have mostly focused on his own people. But here Jesus performs a miracle for a Canaanite woman, someone outside of the Jewish faith. And in doing so, Jesus gives us a preview of his wider ministry to come. Jesus is not just a Savior for the Jewish people. He is a Savior for all. Join us on Sunday and hear again this good news! Jesus is a Savior for ALL

Spirit Seekers 26 is our corporate prayer initiative for the year. We are focusing on praying for the Holy Spirit to pour out gifts of hospitality, forgiveness, peace, unity, compassion and generosity on our church. Take a slip of paper from the boat on the altar and pray for that specific gift for a month. Then, swap it out for another gift. Let the Spirit loose here at Cornerstone! |
