On May 11, 1950, a small group of believers met and soon united into a church body. They named themselves the Grace Missionary Church of Mooresville, Indiana, and became members of the Missionary Church Association of Fort Wayne, Indiana. There were eighteen charter members.

The first formal worship service was held on Sunday, June 4, 1950, in a shelter house at Morgan Monroe State Park. On July 1, 1950 the property at 63 W. Main Street was purchased and remodeled into a chapel for services and an apartment for the pastor, Leroy Rusher, and his family.

On November 1, 1954, the congregation moved to the former Christian Church building at the corner of Harrison and Jefferson. This building was purchased and used as their place of worship until 1964. Pastors during this time included Leroy Rusher (1950-1955), Robert Fansler (1955-1957), Herald Welty (1957-1960) and Robert Liechty (1960-1966).

On July 12, 1964, under the pastoring of Robert Liechty, Grace church moved to what is now Jones Event Center at the corner of Highway 67 and Allison Road. The cornerstone for the building was set on April 12,1964 with over 300 attending the celebration. The sanctuary and educational unit was built at an approximate cost of $150,000. The six acres of property provided ample space for parking, recreation, and a future parsonage. A typically weekly schedule was to join together for Sunday School at 9:30 am and then Morning Worship at 10:30 am. Youth Groups met on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm and Evangelism took place at 7:30 pm. Each Wednesday, Grace congregants gathered together for Bible Study and Prayer at 7:30 pm.

In 1975, Mooresville Christian School (presently Mooresville Christian Academy) was started at Grace Church.

In 1995, Grace Church has grown in such a way that the addition of the Family Life Center was constructed.

Pastors during this time included Robert Liechty (1960-1966), Ralph Ringenberg 1966-1972), Willard Williams (1972-1980), William McVay (1981-1985), Greg Ponchot (1985-1989), and James (Jim) Taylor, Jr. (1989-2012)

In 2005, our current property was purchased and the new facility constructed with the first service here taking place on October 29, 2006. Pastors during this time included James (Jim) Taylor, Jr. (1989-2012), Martin (Marty) Longcor (2013-2024) and our interim Pastor, Mike Frantz (2025- Present).

Throughout these seventy-five years, and the leadership of eleven pastors, Grace Church has remained faithful in her commitment to being a Bible-believing community who is the bride of Jesus. We remain committed to loving God, loving others, and being disciples of Jesus who walk in obedience to all He has commanded. Our desire is to help people discover they are loved, learn how to grow in their love for God, and live out what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, we are going to join together at 11:00 for a Family Service and to celebrate 75 years of God's Faithfulness. The details are still being planned, but we are asking for your help. Please take a moment to click here and answer a few questions for us.
