FROM HERE TO HOPE

A vision for the future of PGBC

In 1898, one man and a group of young boys gathered for a Bible study, and God

began a work that would become Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, A Place of Hope for generations.

For over 130 years, we’ve witnessed His faithfulness. And now, through the vision He continues

to give, we believe our best days are still ahead.

What began with children continues to grow through children - and this next step is about making

room for more lives to be changed.

This is more than a building! It’s the next step in the story God is writing!

THE VISION

As our campus has grown over the years, so has the distance between the spaces we use every week - creating challenges in how we gather, move, and care for the people God has entrusted to us. But we believe God is using this moment to lead us forward!

From Here to Hope means stepping into a vision where our campus is no longer divided, but united. A place where, through one central entrance, every ministry is connected - creating a safer, more accessible, and more intentional environment for every generation.

This next step begins with expanding our children’s space to meet today’s needs, while building toward tomorrow. What starts here will one day become the foundation for a new worship center, along with dedicated spaces for student ministry and adult education. At the same time, this approach allows us to steward our existing facilities well - repurposing them into spaces for Christian Education.

This phase establishes a central hub for the future of our campus, including a larger and more secure children’s check-in area, six new classrooms, and improved accessibility through the addition of an elevator.

This is more than a building. This is the next step - From Here to Hope.

THE SPACE

THE COST

(estimates as of January 2026)

In order to remain debt-free and faithfully steward the resources God has entrusted to us, we have set a goal of raising 80% of the Phase One cost before breaking ground. We believe this approach allows us to begin construction while continuing to raise the remaining funds along the way!

Phase One is designed to meet our most immediate needs by expanding our current Children’s Facilities across both floors. This expansion includes six new classrooms, a larger and more secure check-in area, an elevator for improved accessibility, and additional restrooms.

Phase Two includes the completion of a new lobby and entrance for the expanded children’s building—designed to become the future entrance for our entire campus. This will serve as the central point of connection as we move toward a one-roof vision.

The project will also feature a rear covered porch area, along with paving for parking, landscaping, and the final details that bring it all to completion!

FAQ

When will we get started? How do we plan to raise the money?
We have finalized the plans and concepts for this project and are ready to move forward. Now, we are trusting God to provide the resources needed to bring this vision to life.As soon as we reach our initial goal of raising 80%—$2.8 million—we will break ground and begin construction. We are pursuing several creative and strategic opportunities to raise the funds needed for this project. This fall, we will launch our first official giving campaign, along with additional initiatives designed to help our church family engage in the vision. One of those opportunities will include offering Financial Peace University to help individuals and families move toward financial freedom—so they can give not out of pressure, but from a place of peace and purpose. We will also be launching a new ministry called Legacy of Hope, designed for those with the spiritual gift of giving. This ministry will work together to help advance the vision and invest in what God is building here for future generations.
What is our timeline?
How can I get involved?
In our commitment to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us, we have taken a thoughtful and intentional approach to this project. As Scripture reminds us, “Which of you, wanting to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost?” (Luke 14:28).In partnership with RCCI, we have developed a phased plan that allows us to move forward wisely and faithfully. Once we reach our initial goal of $2.8 million, we will begin construction while continuing to raise funds to complete Phase One and prepare for what comes next. While only God knows the full timeline, we trust that just as He has given the vision, He will provide everything needed—right on time.
The first and most important way to get involved is to pray! Pray that God would provide everything needed to bring this vision to life. Pray that we would walk in His timing, and remain faithful to His will every step of the way. And pray specifically about how God would lead you to be part of this journey—how you can give, serve, and invest in the legacy He is building! While our first official giving campaign will launch this fall, you don’t have to wait to begin participating. You can start giving toward the project today! Even after the completion of our previous project and the elimination of our debt, many in our church family have continued to give faithfully toward what God would do next. If you feel led, you can join them by using any of the “Give Today” options above! And finally, we want to hear from you! We truly believe we are better together, and we want to move forward in this vision as a church family—unified in purpose and expectation for what God will do.
What happens to our current space?
Why now?
While the future possibilities are endless, we believe God is leading us to steward our existing facilities by transforming them into a dedicated Christian Education Center. As we move forward with this vision, these spaces will continue to serve a meaningful purpose—equipping and investing in lives for years to come. While only God knows all that will come from it, we trust this is the direction He is leading us. We believe God has been preparing us for this moment, and now is the time to take the next step! As our church continues to grow, we are already seeing the need for more space, better flow, and increased safety—especially in our children’s areas. More importantly, we don’t want to wait until we are forced to act—we want to move forward in faith, creating space for what God is already doing and what He will continue to do in the years ahead. This isn’t just about meeting needs, it’s about preparing for the future.
