| Love's Only Hope in This World |
Scripture: Matthew 22:34-46
What kind of world do you want to live in? What kind of world do you want for your children, grandchildren, and those friends who will come after you? What are your hopes and best wishes for the future of the world, our country, this city? What do you pray for when you look at everything that is happening today? Jesus says there are two commandments on which everything else hangs. They are two sides of the same thing. You can’t truly have one without the other. This is about more than our feelings or affection for God and one another. It’s about our commitment to the life and well-being of the other. It’s a choice we make every day – to love or not to love. Join us this Sunday as we examine these two commandments together.

| Ministry Team Focus & Spotlight |
Our Ministry Teams are designed to provide opportunities for individuals with a variety spiritual gifts and natural abilities to get more fully engaged in the life of the church. We currently have twelve teams that function together to minister both inside and outside the walls of the church building. Each team is led by someone that has felt a call to facilitate their specific area of ministry. The team leaders meet together on occasion to share their challenges and accomplishments. Working in collaboration across team responsibilities allows our teams to further enhance their effectiveness.
Our newest Ministry Team is called Common Grounds and is led by Dr. Shelley Mayo. This team is intended to offer opportunities for service and fellowship for adults ages 18 & up. Thursday evening, Nov. 5, at 6:30 will be the first gathering of those interested in participating. Bring an appetizer to share and enjoy an evening of board games, clever conversation, and planning for where we go next. We will be raffling off a Keurig coffee maker, a piece of original art and a “split the pot”. So, bring some cash if you want a chance to win.
