Scripture: Matthew 9:35-10:8
Last week I described Jesus as aligning his life in two directions. He aligned himself with the people, events, circumstances, concerns, and needs that were before him. I called that his alignment with the horizontal axis of life. And he aligned himself with whatever was being called for in the name of God: love, acceptance, forgiveness, meaning, hospitality, justice, mercy, hope, healing, new life. I called that his alignment with the vertical axis of life. Jesus has shown us the dual alignment of his life, and he is calling us to that same alignment in our lives. That means facing and dealing with our pain and the pain of others. And that’s not easy. Join us on Sunday as we delve into what we can do with the pain in our lives.

The Journey is a prayer focus group that meets in the Sanctuary on Tuesday evenings at 6:30PM. The group always begins with a reflection on prayer and what it means to their lives. Everyone is welcome to join. Our Community Outreach Ministers, Robert and Raya Engel, can keep you up to date with volunteer opportunities with One Meal Mobile and Love All Pantry. |

Thrive is our adult education ministry and it is led by Emmie Jones. The group meets online on Monday and Saturday evenings at 6:00PM. The current study is on the Gospel of Mark. Drop in and see what is there for you and your journey.
If you missed the first few lessons, Emmie is offering a catch-up class online on Saturday evenings as well.

Spirit Seekers 26 is our corporate prayer initiative for the year. We are focusing on praying for the Holy Spirit to pour out gifts of hospitality, forgiveness, peace, unity, compassion and generosity on our church. Take a slip of paper from the boat on the altar and pray for that specific gift for a month. Then, swap it out for another gift. Let the Spirit loose here at Cornerstone! |

We are holding off on our Celebration Luncheon until June 21 which is both Father's Day and our PRIDE worship service. We will be enjoying a brunch similar to our Mother's Day celebration during our regular worship hour. A sign up sheet for suggested dishes is in the coffee bar area. |
