Preschool Leadership Update |
I have an exciting update on our Preschool leadership as we head into the new school year. We have hired Jennifer Ghent as our new Preschool Director!
Jennifer brings years of experience as a Preschool Director, having both started a preschool and served as director of two other preschools. She has also spent the last several years with us as a teacher assistant, getting to know our community, our families, and our way of doing things. That combination of proven leadership experience together with an insider’s knowledge of our wonderful school gives her a strong foundation to lead us well from day one.
We're also pleased to share that Florene West, after sixteen years of building our school, from 45 students to over 300, is stepping into a new role as Senior Advisor. What she's built here is remarkable, and now she's choosing to invest her experience and expertise in Jennifer, helping her get up to speed quickly and ensuring the values, traditions, and relationships that make our Preschool special will endure for years to come.
Earlier this summer Pam Tanner announced her retirement after 36 years of serving at OSL, most recently as Co-Director of the Preschool. Fortunately for us, Pam continues to share her wisdom and expertise with us as we transition to new leadership and will serve part-time in the classroom as a Teacher Assistant. All to say, we're very excited about seeing a great legacy further developed and expanded as we continue to share God's love with almost three hundred children and their families!

If you are interested, or want to suggest a potential candidate, please complete the BOD Nomination Form (paper copies available in the church office) and submit to bod@oslmckinney.org or place paper forms in Vern Herbel’s church mailbox by August 9.

JOIN the seniors of OSL each month for an afternoon of fun and games! Regularly played are 42 and Mexican train. Other games will be played depending on the availability of players. Meet at 1:00pm – 4:00pm in the OSL lobby on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. We will meet on Tuesdays, August 11 & 25.
