Dear Rock Harbor Church Family,
As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect with gratitude and joy on all that God has done through our church this year. Together, we’ve witnessed His faithfulness as He continues to shape Rock Harbor into a place where lives are transformed, disciples are made, and the Gospel is shared with the world.
This year has been one of incredible growth and opportunity for ministry impact. Some of the highlights include:
Moving to Two Sunday Worship Times: This step has allowed us to welcome more people to experience worship and fellowship each week.
Mission Impact: With over $90,000 given to local and global missions, we’ve seen God work in amazing ways. Notably, we fully funded a secondary education teacher’s salary in Haiti, extending the love of Christ to the next generation.
Facility Enhancements: From the beautiful new coffee bar in the lobby to LED lighting upgrades to every room of the Sanctuary Building, sound panels in the sanctuary, fellowship hall and classrooms, the completion of the 'Board' Room upstairs for a quiet space to engage in small groups, and new fellowship hall doors, every detail has contributed to creating a more welcoming, safe, and functional space. Including new security cameras around the building enhance safety and security.
Audio & Video Upgrades: We installed a new Waves soundboard, enabling studio-level mixing for both in-person and online worship. Additional video cameras and a state-of-the-art speaker array have elevated our worship experience.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to pursue even greater ministry impact:
Global and Local Missions: We are planning a mission trip to Costa Rica to serve and share the Gospel. Additionally, we are expanding our outreach by supporting new FCA staff and other local mission initiatives such as YoungLife, Love INC and New Life Missions, allowing us to make a greater impact in our community.
Youth Ministry: We continue to have the budget to hire a full-time Youth Leader/Pastor to support our growing youth ministry, providing them with guidance and opportunities to grow in Christ as well as support our rapidly growing Young Adult Ministry.
Discipleship Growth: We’re expanding small group ministries and discipleship opportunities to help individuals grow deeper in Christ through intentional relationships including growth in our Women's & Men's Ministries.
Facility Renovations: We aim to replace sanctuary speakers to a speaker array that is off the floor and out of the way, upgrade the backdrop behind the projection screens with acoustic panels that are also aesthetically pleasing, install a permanent sound system in the fellowship hall to improve all the ministry events there—including RKidz, Club 456, Men's & Women's Events—and renovate and add bathrooms to better meet our growing numbers.
Creative Ministries: Our creative team has been working on original music, and we are excited about the potential for these projects to have a global impact as they are published and shared.
In line with the vision of the Evangelical Covenant Church, we strive to "Grow Deeper in Christ and Go Further in Mission." The 2025 Ministry Funding Plan, recently approved at our Congregational Meeting, sets the foundation for this next season of growth. Please review our Narrative Budget, which details the exciting ministry initiatives ahead.
Together, we can step into 2025 with faith, ready to follow where God leads us. Thank you for being part of what makes Rock Harbor a church family that serves with love and purpose.
As we look ahead, we ask for your prayers concerning new opportunities. Due to the growth the Lord has bestowed on Rock Harbor, the Leadership Team has been diligently examining options for future expansion of our ministries. To that end, the team has approved a non-obligatory loan application to National Covenant Properties as we consider the long-term and short-term implications of purchasing the Orange Street property adjacent to our property to address our growing ministry needs. Additionally, we are exploring the possibility of expanding our reach by taking ownership of Grace Preschool, which currently resides on our campus.
These opportunities reflect our continued commitment to creating spaces where lives can be transformed by the Gospel. We invite you to join us in prayer as we seek God’s guidance for these potential steps forward.
May you experience the hope and joy of Christ this Christmas season and in the New Year ahead.
