Hello Church Family,

Palm Sunday is here! And with more guests projected to join us, we’re adding a second service at 9am and making a few parking changes that you will notice on Sunday.

To give you aheads up:

The main entrance will be in the lobby of the sanctuary along N. New York Ave.  The secondary entrance will be through the Library doors in the Gym Parking Lot.

The 4th Hole doors near Ashley’s office will be locked and we will be directing everyone to enter via the Lobby.

There is no Adult Sunday School meeting the next 2 Sundays.

We will have Kids Ministry for Pre-School aged children concurrent with both services. Parents can check in using the Courtyard Doors.

Elementary-aged kids and students are invited to worship with us at both 9 and 10:30.

Here is how you can help us. If you’re able:

1. Consider parking in the parking lot near the Gym and entering through the Library doors.

2. Consider attending the 9:00am worship service to make room for our guests at 10:30am.

3. Consider serving at either the 9am or 10:30am services to help first time visitors find their way and navigate our campus.

4. Pray for guests to be open to the truth of Jesus.

Thanks for helping us create space literally and spiritually for everyone this Easter season!

Cheers,

Hospitality is at the heart of the gospel. In Scripture, the word “hospitality” means “love of the stranger.” Jesus modeled this perfectly by moving toward those on the outside and creating space for people to be seen, known, and loved. As His people, we have the opportunity each week to extend that same kind of welcome to our neighbors and to every person who walks through our doors.

We are excited to share that Kristin Otto has joined our staff team and is leading our hospitality efforts, helping strengthen how we host and care for people through Sundays and special events. As we head into Palm Sunday and Easter, you will notice updated signage and wayfinding, along with our team of Hosts ready to receive and welcome all.

And join us for our Easter Festival this Sunday from 4 to 6 pm. It is a great opportunity to invite friends and connect with families, with an egg hunt, petting zoo, crafts, and more!

Cheers,

The spring semester is always a tough one for students to get through. It’s full of extracurriculars, exams, and the beginning stages of finals prep. Spring break is a beacon for many students, as it is a time to rest and prepare for what's to come. During the first weekend of break, we had a lock-in at the church. Most of our lock-ins are high-energy, fast-paced games, and not a lot of sleep. We knew this one would be different since so many of our students were already exhausted or were going to be out of town.

We programmed the 18 hours to be engaging while also meeting them where they were at. One of the games we played throughout the night was called “Secret Mission." Teams were given a list of tasks they had to get the other teams to complete without anyone catching on. It quickly turned into everyone questioning everyone's moves. Basic manners, such as opening a door for someone, were being questioned. Cartwheel competitions, conga lines, and braiding hair were other tasks going on.

Brett shared about the importance of having good friends and what that looks like for us as Christians. Groups presented Bible verses that address the characteristics of a good friend and gave practical ways to apply them. At the end of the night, we split into middle and high school groups to give students the space to address things at their level and have more intentional conversations.

Lock-ins will always be one of my favorite things we get to do at Power House. It goes beyond what we do on a normal week and creates an environment for bonds to grow rapidly.

Did you know that community is a gift from God that he has given us to spur one another on toward love and good deeds?  The writer of Hebrews urges us not to give up meeting together and encouraging one another. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

We are thankful that so many are gathering together in small groups before worship on Sunday and during the week. We encourage everyone to find a small group. If you need to find a group reach out with the connection card below and we will help you get connected.  Many of our Sunday groups are in temporary locations while we undergo renovations and we are so thankful for all the continued help and flexibility during this time.
