Saturday, November 1, 2025: Connections Breakfast  

Our monthly Connections Breakfast is Saturday, November 1, 2025 @8:00 AM. Please join CFC Veteran Ministry participants (Veterans, Service members, loved ones, and volunteers) for this fellowship breakfast from 8:00 - 9:00 AM at the Friendship Diner (in the back room).

This is a pay your own way breakfast event; however, the Friendship Diner offers a discount on your meal if you are a Veteran / military.

Sunday, November 9, 2025: Monthly CFC Veteran Ministry Fellowship and Coffee

Our next fellowship and coffee event is scheduled for Sunday, November 9, 2025. We hold these get togethers at CFC before and after Sunday church services (but not before the 8:00 AM service) outside The Gathering room (for morning services) and outside the chapel (for the 4:15 PM service), once a month.

Please come meet fellow Veterans, Service members (Active duty, Reserve, and National Guard), and their loved ones to spend time together, pray, and enjoy a cup of coffee, juice, and snack - and to encourage each other!

This month we will recognize Veterans Day (holiday takes place on November 11) AND the U.S. Marine Corps birthday (actual birthday is November 10). Come by the fellowship for a special Veterans Day treat, too!

HOLD THE DATE: 'Virtual Reality' Honor Flight Parade at CFC, December 6, 2025

Please join this enthusiastic community event on Saturday, December 6, 2025 @approximately 11:15 AM inside CFC. Come show 14 local Veterans your support and appreciation for their service during the virtual welcome home parade! This 'virtual reality' honor flight will be held at CFC for Veterans and their Guardians who are unable to participate in an actual honor flight to Washington DC.

The volunteers of the Honor Flight of Southwestern Indiana (HFSI) created and held its first very successful virtual honor flight event for 15 Veterans on July 26, 2025. Thank you to those who participated in the parade and honored our Veterans during the welcome home parade that day.

The December 6, 2025 event will be HFSI's 2nd virtual honor flight. Bring bring family, friends, encouraging signs, and your cheers to the parade located inside CFC!

 

HOLD THE DATE, December 9, 2025: Sanctuary on the Hill by Mission First Update

The CFC Veteran Ministry frequently collaborates with a local organization, The Sanctuary on the Hill by Mission First, Inc., https://thesanctuaryonthehill.org/. On Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 6:00 - 7:00 PM (in CFC Room 332), Master Sergeant Paul Linberg, (U.S. Marine Corps, Retired), Development Director, Mission First Inc., will share with CFC Veteran Ministry participants a progress report regarding The Sanctuary on the Hill. It has been a very exciting and fruitful year for the development of The Sanctuary!

As background, military Veterans often have compelling and unique needs.The mission of The Sanctuary on the Hill by Mission First, Inc. is to provide a sanctuary to strengthen and renew a sense of purpose for those with military service.

Mission First, Inc. is developing this restorative sanctuary with several supporting programs dedicated to Veterans and their families. This is a 90+ acre sanctuary located in Warrick County. 

All are invited to attend this update by Paul Linberg about this very important resource for local Veterans and their families.

 

YMCA Operation Military Summer Camp 

Each summer theYMCA's Camp Carson offers Operation Military Support Camp to children of active duty or Veteran military families. Operation Military Support Summer Camp is scheduled for May 31 - June 5, 2026. Registration opened on October 1st. 

This year everyone will pay only $200 for the week. This camp is just like their traditional overnight camp, but campers are able to share cabins, eat meals, and participate in activities with others who understand life as a military family.
