JUNE 23, 2024 - Gary Smith - Worship Center
Leading in Worship East - Libby Shorman |
FBCR Star of the Week is Carol Riley!
Carol Riley joined our church just a few years ago and went straight to work!
She has been very involved with our Austin Street Center Ministry where she serves baked potatoes and spends time with the clients on a monthly basis. During the Christmas season, Carol has been instrumental in our Angel Tree for Cornerstone. Organizing all of your generous gifts and making sure they get delivered is no small task and she does it with grace. She especially enjoys participating in a mission trip…both locally and beyond. In fact, she will be leaving Sunday for our Valley Mission Trip. Carol has a heart for missions and has been involved in some way in almost all of our mission groups and has also served on the Mission Committee.
Thank you Carol for living generously by sharing your time! |

Students in grades 7-12 will travel to Amarillo for the Top Of Texas Tour. While on mission, students will work with several churches as they support those living in the inner city and surrounding communities in the greater Amarillo area. They also will visit some of the sites like the Cadillac Ranch, eat at the Big Texan Steak House, and enjoy a night under the stars watching the musical, Texas in Palo Duro Canyon. |

On this trip, we will work primarily with CityRelief. CityRelief is an organization that helps to first show the love of Jesus and offer hope. Then they provide resources and connection to those that are marginalized. As a volunteer, you will help transform lives and, in the process, be transformed as well. You will be a beacon of hope and connection to hurting and isolated people.
Our secondary mission will be with Prayer Stations. This is an opporunity to stretch yourself by praying for strangers. I have never been to NYC, and I have been multiple times, when this ministry did not transform those who went. |

Blood donors are needed now to help ensure patients have access to lifesaving blood. Give blood this month and make a real difference to someone in need. We will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 10am to 4pm in the Activity Center. Schedule Now. |

BACKPACK BASH-DONATIONS - DONATION DEADLINE JULY 7TH Help us realize our goal of giving a backpack filled with school supplies to every elementary-aged child at a high-need RISD campus.
Whether you can give a little or a lot, every $20 donation is equivalent to one more RISD child starting school with a new backpack and new school supplies.
For some families, purchasing a backpack filled with school supplies is a financial burden they simply cannot afford. That’s why we need you! Your support makes the Backpack Bash a success. Your contributions directly impact the lives of RISD students and alleviate some of the stressors faced by many RISD families. |
