This Sunday we begin a new five-week series called Yield. I’ve been reflecting on the idea of flags—how we all wave them to represent identity, loyalty, and value. Some of us carry the flags of sports teams, others of nations, and still others of personal beliefs and causes.

Scripture points us to two powerful images. One is the white flag of surrender—laying down our lives before Jesus. The other is the banner described in Song of Solomon: “His banner over me is love.”

Here’s the beauty of the gospel: when we surrender to Jesus, His love becomes the defining banner over our lives.

Over the next five weeks, we’ll explore what it means to truly yield to Him—in our hearts, our families, our work, and every space we live and move.

What a fantastic Easter Sunday. Around 650 people gathered across two services to hear the good news and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. I met so many people who were invited by friends and family, and it was encouraging to be a place where everyone could experience what God is doing.

Thank you for showing up, and thank you to everyone who served across our teams. Band and Production, Hosting, Safety and Security, Coffee, and so many others helped create a warm and welcoming environment.

The best next step after Easter is to reflect on our discipleship to Jesus.

If you are not currently in a discipleship group, I would love to invite you to join my discipleship class on Wednesdays at 6:00 PM in the Choir Hall. The class is designed to help us learn the teachings of Jesus and how we can practically follow him with our lives.

No Ordinary Wednesday  

One of the things we strive for at Power House is that no week should feel ordinary. Church was never meant to be mundane or routine, it should be alive. It should be a place where we open Scripture, seek God together, and truly do life with one another.

This past Wednesday was a perfect picture of that.

We shared a meal, then took over the campus with an all-church outdoor egg hunt (yes, even teenagers still love it). We stayed outside and watched the Artemis II rocket launch together from the front of the church. We were led in powerful, student-led worship. We spent time reflecting on the suffering Christ endured for us on the cross. And we closed the night in LifeGroups, talking through real application, what it actually looks like to live this out.

It was a full night on purpose, like we honestly always strive to have at Power House.

Because no one should ever walk away from church thinking, “We didn’t really do anything.”

Church should be filled with joy, laughter, challenge, worship, and meaningful conversations. It should create space for us to respond to what God is doing not just in our own lives, but in the life of the church as a whole.

And right now, God is moving in some incredible ways.

We just want more of Jesus and to see more of His work in and through His people.

Did you know that community is a gift from God that he has given us to spur one another on toward love and good deeds?  The writer of Hebrews urges us not to give up meeting together and encouraging one another. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

We are thankful that so many are gathering together in small groups before worship on Sunday and during the week. We encourage everyone to find a small group. If you need to find a group reach out with the connection card below and we will help you get connected.  Many of our Sunday groups are in temporary locations while we undergo renovations and we are so thankful for all the continued help and flexibility during this time.

Sunday, April 26, 3-5PM 

A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief and help you move through the grief process. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief and gain solid support each step of the way.
