Our Worship Services begin at 10:45am on Sundays. We also live-stream via our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

It's More About God Than It Is About Me

Scripture: Matthew 3:13-17

This Sunday is Baptism of the Lord Sunday. This is the day that churches all around the world celebrate and remember the baptism of Jesus. Along with the celebration there’s something to be confused about. Why would Jesus present himself for baptism? Baptism is about washing your sins away—but Jesus had no sin! John the Baptist had said, “I baptize with water for repentance”—but Jesus didn’t need to repent! So why was Jesus baptized? Join us for worship as we look at Jesus' baptism and seek clarity about our own baptisms.

Spiritual Seekers Calendar

Our Monday night Bible Study is taking a break through the holidays but will begin again in the New Year.

The Journey is our Tuesday night prayer circle. Everyone is invited to gather at 6:30 in the Sanctuary for a time of reflection and prayer. 

If you like to sing and would like to join our Worship Ministry, we rehearse on Thursday nights at 6:30 in the Sanctuary.

Outreach Ministry Calendar

Our Outreach Ministry has several opportunities for us to get involved outside the four walls of the church, and they are always looking for volunteers! The following is a monthly schedule of opportunities. 

Every Wednesday at 5pm: Tillman's Corner Outreach (Feeding the Homeless)

1st Monday of Every Month at 8am: Love All Food Pantry

3rd Tuesday of Every Month at 7:30am: Love All Food Pantry

Please consider one (or more) of these opportunities to help us be the hands and feet of Jesus. 

Spirit Seekers of 26

We are launching a new churchwide prayer initiative to keep us all in one accord throughout the year. Instead of a list of names, the basket on the altar will contain slips of paper focused on six unique aspects of the Spirit. They are: Unity, Hospitality, Generosity, Compassion, Peace and Forgiveness. You are invited to take a different slip each month to use in your prayer time. Our fervent prayers will be a blessing to all as we continue to grow in spiritual maturity together.

Author Reading and Q&A with Nico Lang

Mark your calendars for Thursday, January 8th at 6:30pm, as we host author Nico Lang. Nico will be reading from his book, "American Teenager; How Trans Kids are Surviving Hate and Finding Joy in a Turbulent Era" and will also be doing a Q&A session. Light refreshments will be served. 

Pastor's Vacation

Pastor Sara and Kay will be taking a much anticipated vacation between January 23 and February 2. Our Deacons Frank Dodson and Tony Tatum will be handling pastoral care duties, Jeannie Barton will hold the church debit card for use in an emergency, Way Bailey will be coordinating worship, Jeannie Barton and Emmie Jones will be stepping into the pulpit to bring the Word. Please pray for a time of refreshing for Pastor Sara and Kay and for the Spirit to lead those who are filling roles while they are away from Cornerstone.

Mardi Gras Parking Fundraiser

It is time once again to start scheduling parking lot attendants for our Mardi Gras Fundraising Effort. Melissa Boesen and Hayse Brock are managing the schedule this year. Please sign up for at least one night of service. This is our biggest fundraising event for the year and it takes many volunteers to make it a success.
