It may seem like this revitalization has been going on forever, but can you believe we had our first meeting with Dr. Gary Moritz in April? He has been helping us in the background for the last 4 months, and his guidance has been invaluable.
The image above is a screen shot from the website under development. It summarizes the vision, mission, and core values that we hold as a church. You are going to recognize most of them, you might even remember writing one or two of them on the post it pad the day we meet with Dr. Moritz to discuss our church. We spoke about what we loved most about our church, what we needed to improve, and where we wanted to grow.
Moving forward, this vision, mission, strategy and values will be how we decide where we focus our time and effort. Every outreach we make will align with this vision. Every decision we make concerning how our budget is structured will be made with them in mind. Even the way we gather to worship will be compared to our values to ensure that they are in agreement!
We are beginning to see light at the end of the revitalization tunnel! The vision drives everything to come, and we are beginning to work on the needed systems that must be in place to grow. When visitors are looking for a place to worship- can they find us on the Web? When they visit in person do we have a way to welcome them, and follow up with them? If we want to attract families with children, we not only need to have the rooms set up for nurseries and classrooms, but we also need to have the means to safely check them in and out of those classrooms. We need volunteers ready to teach and monitor the children. We need clear safety protocols that will make the parents feel good about where their children are going.
Dr Moritz has connected Susan Lindgren with his Director of Childrens Education. This will give us a huge head start on getting ready for all those children we have been praying for.
We have a new website in progress that will be a place for people to learn who we are through internet searches as well as being a place that helps us grow spiritually as Christ followers.
Church Teams, the program featured in our last newsletter, will help us manage the online giving, contact information, email, texting, event signup and a whole lot more.
By the way, all of these things need to be troubleshot and edited. If want to take advantage of the opportunity to shape our electronic face towards the community Pastor Gary would love to talk.
Finally, if you ever have questions about what is happening, or why we are doing or changing something, please make sure you ask Pastor Gary. He can be reached at 401-236-4929 or found hanging around the church in various places. And he would love talking to you in person about the revitalization!
