Sunday, June 15, 2025: Monthly CFC Veteran Ministry Fellowship and Coffee

Our next fellowship and coffee event is scheduled for Sunday, June 15, 2025. We hold these get togethers at CFC before and after Sunday church services (but not before the 8:00 AM service) outside The Gathering room (for morning services) and outside the chapel (for 4:15 PM service), once a month.

Please come meet fellow Veterans, Service members (Active duty, Reserve, and National Guard), and their loved one to spend time together, pray, and enjoy a cup of coffee, juice, and snack - and to encourage each other!

At this event we will also be recognizing the U.S. Army's 250th birthday (June 14, 2025). For 250 years, America’s Army has served and defended the people of the United States, the American way of life and our nation.

Happy Birthday, U.S. Army, "This We'll Defend!"

Help Support a Deployed CFC Service Member

We continue to love on an Active Duty Service member from CFC who is deployed overseas. First Lieutenant (1LT) Tom Goode, U.S. Army is serving roughly 9 months with his Fort Drum, NY unit for this deployment. We would like to send him encouraging notes, baked goods, thoughtful small gifts, etc., to build him up and to let him “feel the love” across the miles!

In June the CFC Veteran Ministry will be sending a package to Tom.

All of you can participate at any time for as often as you are able.

Here are three ways that you can take an active part in lifting Tom up while he is deployed:

1). Pray often – for his safety, for his Christian faith to grow, for loneliness, for fellowship with other Christians, for stress relief and total reliance on God, for quality sleep, etc.

2). Send a note, letter, or package to him at your own pace. A simple letter will cost only 1 stamp and will get to him pretty quickly. If you send a larger package, please take it to the post office to make sure that you have filled out the proper documentation and have the correct postage on it. Remember: The bigger the package, the slower the delivery.

His address is:

1LT Tom Goode

SECFOR UNIT 6060

Box 1001

DPO, AE 09870

Please note: The location where 1LT Goode’s unit is deployed has mail restrictions. To learn more about what cannot be sent, please contact Christina Sallee with any questions at 812.204.4144 or at csallee5820@gmail.com.

3). Participate in the CFC Veteran Ministry “Support 1LT Tom Goode” project!  Stop by the monthly CFC Veteran Ministry Fellowship and Coffee events (located outside The Gathering room between church services) on:

?? - June 15 - PLEASE STOP BY AND SIGN CARD TO 1LT GOODE.

- July 14 – depends on if he is still deployed.

We will have an assortment of cards available for you to enclose an encouraging message and/or to sign.

We will have coloring pages for kids to color and blank cards for kids who want to make their own greeting cards.

If you want to leave your own card or a small gift for Tom, e.g. baked goods, candy, snacks, an activity book (word find, crossword puzzle), etc., you can do so. We will include it in the package from CFC.

The CFC package to Tom will be mailed out on the Monday following each Fellowship and Coffee event.
