MAUNDY THURSDAY Thursday, April 2
Dinner at 6:00pm; Worship at 7:00pm (Livestream Link) Maundy Thursday Potluck Dinner: Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite entrée, side dish, or dessert. See you tomorrow! GOOD FRIDAY Friday, April 3
Worship at 7:00pm (Livestream Link) Tre Ore
There is a Lutheran tradition called the "Tre Ore" (3 hour) to commemorate Jesus suffering on the cross. It is usually done from noon to 3pm during the 3 hours of darkness – “Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over the land until the ninth hour” (Matthew 27:45). It focuses on the 7 last words/sayings of Christ. On Good Friday, from Noon to 3pm we will send out an image every 30 minutes. Each image will have a saying of Jesus while on the cross along with a quote from Martin Luther. We encourage you to read each one as they arrive in your inbox and take a moment to reflect on the sufferings of Christ. This will also be available on OSL’s Facebook page. EASTER CELEBRATION Sunday, April 5 Worship at 8:00am, 9:30am, 11:00am (NO Worship45, Sunday School, Adult Bible Classes) Identical worship services with "Flowering the Cross" and Communion. "Flowering the Cross": Everyone is encouraged to bring a single stem flower to cover the cross at the front of the sanctuary. All children and youth are invited to process in with the Pastor at the beginning of each worship service to flower the cross. After placing your flower on the cross you will return to your seat. |
