Church Family,

This past week in our worship service we got to behold the wonder of Christmas through the eyes of God in Matthew 1:18-25.  We learned about the great unfolding of scripture from Isaiah 7 to Matthew 1. We also learned that the other sheet in a bedsheet pile is called a "flat" sheet.

I didn't know that.  know half of yall didn't know that either.

Christmas is the great unfolding of the mystery of God, which Paul tells us is Christ In Us.

The theological term for this phenomenon is called "incarnation."  At Christmas we learn that God with us.  At calvary we learn that Jesus died for us.  At Pentecost we learn that God empowers us to be "God with us" to those around us.

In short, Christmas is the launchpad of the church's mission and ministry.  We get to incarnate Christ to those around us.

I'm not sure what your Christmas plans are.  But can I encourage you to pray and ask God where He wants you to incarnate Jesus to those around you.

The best gift we have at Christmas is not presents, it is PRESENCE.  And if Jesus is IN you then you can take the presence of Jesus to those around you.

Merry Christmas.

Cheers,
