Hey Everyone!

I hope that you are all doing well as you’ve been getting into God’s Word through The WELL during the early days of 2024.  This new beginning has given us an opportunity to read some passages that might not typically be at the top of our reading list in 2 Kings and Leviticus.  These readings lead me to reflect on God’s sovereignty, detailed plans, and his consistent desire for redemption and reconciliation in seeking relationship with his creation.  It is encouraging to know that God continually desires to have us abide in him.

Our time spent in the book of Psalms has given us a focus on praise, worship, and exhortation in the face of good days or days of despair, while remembering how God has provided in the past.  Also, our memory verses for this year so far are from Psalm 105:1, “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;  make known among the nations what he has done.”, and from Psalm 108:5, “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.”

In the book of Acts, we find ourselves journeying with Paul through his missionary efforts as he boldly preached the Gospel, enduring beatings, stoning, imprisonment, and frequent threats of death.  Daily, Paul was committed to furthering the Kingdom of God as he followed the leading of the Holy Spirit.

My prayer for you this month is to follow Paul’s daily example as he “traveled from place to place” and was “strengthening all the disciples.”  Be confident in the power of the Holy Spirit and Jesus’ call to follow him as you think about your one next step that you could take in continuing your journey of being a disciple of Jesus.

This coming Sunday, February 18th, at 5:00pm in the Fellowship Hall, we will be hosting a Discipleship Group Launch gathering.  This will be a time to find out more about what this call to discipleship might mean for you, and how Discipleship Groups could play an important role in following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and committing to the mission of Jesus.  Come and see!

Grace and Peace,
Randy
