We Are...

Scripture: Matthew 5:13-20

There is nothing more useful than sun and salt the old Roman saying goes. And in this Sunday’s gospel reading, Jesus calls us both the salt of the earth and the light of the world. It is quite a compliment, to be called the salt of the earth. But maybe even more of one to be called the light of the world. The Apostle John records Jesus saying that he himself is the light of the world. And yet, here in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells us that we are the light of the world. If you put two and two together, you will discover that Jesus is saying that we are like him! Yes! You and I are walking, talking images of the Savior! Join us this Sunday as we spend some time unpacking this truth.

Tim will be hosting Pay-What-You-Can mini portrait sessions for individuals, couples, and families. As part of the visit, he’ll also be gifting Cornerstone MCC updated photos for our website and social media.

These sessions will take place at Avenue of the Oaks on Saturday, February 14th. To reserve your spot, please click the link below.

Outreach Ministry Calendar

Our Outreach Ministry has several opportunities for us to get involved outside the four walls of the church, and they are always looking for volunteers! The following is a monthly schedule of opportunities.

Every Wednesday at 5pm: Tillman's Corner Outreach (Feeding the Homeless)

1st Tuesday of Every Month at 7:30am: Love All Food Pantry

Spirit Seekers of 26

We are joining together to pray for the Holy Spirit to throw open heaven's storehouse and bless our church with gifts of unity, compassion, forgiveness, generosity, peace and hospitality throughout the year. Everyone is encouraged to take a slip of paper from the altar and focus prayer on one gift each month. We will soon see the beautiful ways our prayers are answered!

Mardi Gras Parking Fundraiser

Our Mardi Gras Parking Fundraiser is off to a great start! Thank you to all those brave souls who worked in the freezing temperatures to get us moving toward a successful event! This is usually our ONLY fundraising event each year and it takes a bunch of folks to make it happen. If you haven't already signed up to volunteer at a parade or two, please do so soon! We typically arrive between 5:30-6:00 and wrap up before 8:00. In between, we have a lot of fun making money for our church!

A Note from Pastor Sara

Oh what a blessing each one of you are to me and to our church! Kay and I enjoyed our time away and have returned rested and renewed. Thank you to all of you for the gift of time! We listened to both worship services on our ride home Sunday and felt the Spirit's sweet presence through your efforts! I can't wait for Sunday morning!
