No Midweek Worship

NO midweek worship today (VBS week). We will resume midweek worship on June 3.

NEW Bible Class:

1 John - The Assurance of Eternal Life

Beginning May 31, the Pastors Class will begin a journey through the letter of 1 John — a short, but rich letter written by the apostle John who reclined at Jesus' side, and who in his old age distilled a lifetime of witness into an urgent word to a people besieged by false ideas. If you've ever wanted to go deeper on what it means to know that you belong to Christ, this is the letter for you. Sundays, 9:45am, in the Olivet Room starting May 31. For more information contact Pastor Thompson.

BOD Update

The Call Committee continues to actively and prayerfully make progress toward choosing a candidate to recommend calling for our next Senior Pastor. Interviews are now scheduled and will take place over the next 3 weeks. Please pray for our Committee members to have wisdom, discernment and unity as they review candidates and that God would prepare the heart of the leader He has chosen for OSL. May we wait with a spirit of trust and expectant hope! Call Questions? Email the Call Committee.

The Financial Advisory Committee is actively exploring the creation of an Endowment Fund opportunity through Legacy Deo. More information to come in the near future.

Bringing Comfort to Kerrville

Shamgar and six other LCC K-9 Comfort Dog teams travelled to Kerrville, TX, on Sunday, May 17, to support many who are still struggling with the aftermath of the July 4, 2025, catastrophic

flooding. The teams visited with staff and clients at the Hunt Store west of Kerrville, Fire Station #3, Hill Country MHDD (Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities) Centers administration building,

and the Coming King Sculpture Prayer garden (also known as the cross on the hill). The teams broke into groups; some went to the new Kerrville Public Safety Facility and others visited remaining fire stations, River Hills Nursing Home, and Mercy Gates Ministries before returning home.

NEW! Community Garden Kitchen

Saturday, June 6

9:00am - 11:00am, McKinney

This ministry blossomed from the discovery that there was no place in Collin County that served prepared, healthy meals on a daily basis. Their goal is to ensure no one in our community be food insecure by serving the over 15% of Collin County residents that live below the poverty line. If you are looking to Help Feed the Hungry by assembling and distributing sack lunches at the Kitchen, please plan to meet us at the Community Garden Kitchen (501 Howard St, McKinney).  A map to their location can be found HERE.

We will also collect much needed supplies to make the lunches.

Please consider donating HERE to this special ministry in our community.

We will have a collection box in the church entry for your convenience, or you can bring them with you on June 6th.

Please contact Dave Carpenter for more information on the supply drive or service event.
