Season of Creation: "Living Waters"

The World Council of Churches established a “Season of Creation” for a worldwide church calendar in the 1990’s. The Lutheran World Federation holds membership in this Council. The Council has chosen September 1- October 4 as the Season of Creation for 2026. Activities throughout September this year call us “to celebrate God as Creator,” and “summon us as collaborators to love and care for the gift of all that God has created” (WCC website).

 

In that spirit, TLLC’s Care of Creation ministry is sponsoring a Season of Creation: "Living Waters" art display. This will be held in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, September 20, 2026. TLLC artists of all ages - beginners, professionals, experimenters - are invited to share their artworks with the congregation at this event.

Guidelines for submission:

  • artworks created by artists of all ages are welcome
  • artworks of all skill levels are welcome
  • submit three or four works of art via email HERE or by hard copy forms available in the narthex.
    • in the email, include your name, title of work, medium used, and size of work for each entry. This information will help us set up the display and print the card placed at each work
    • art can range in size from small (5” x 7” or smaller ) to medium size (between 8” x 12” and 11” x 17”)
    • larger works can be accommodated if notice is given
  • print & sign THIS FORM to grant permission for TLLC to use images of your creative property. It can be emailed or dropped off in the office. If submitting more than one piece, you may list them all on one form.
  • media may include oil/acrylic/watercolor paint, fabric art, paper collage, pastels, pen and ink, pencil, mixed media, photography, stained glass, wood carving, sculpture, mosaic, quilting, found objects, etc.

Drop off artworks at TLLC in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, September 19 between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

 

Artworks do not have to reflect the "Living Waters" theme.
