Season of Creation: God's Gifts in Nature

The idea to establish a “Season of Creation” in a worldwide church calendar was developed by the World Council of Churches, including the Lutheran World Federation. This Council has chosen September 1 - October 4 as the Season of Creation for 2025. Activities throughout the month of September this year call us “to celebrate God as Creator,” and “summon us as collaborators to love and care for the gift of all that God has created” (WCC website).
In that spirit, TLLC’s Care of Creation ministry is sponsoring a “Season of Creation: God’s Gifts in Nature” art display to be held in the Fellowship Hall on September 21, 2025. TLLC artists of all ages - beginners, apprentices, professionals - are invited to share their art works with the congregation at this celebration event.
Guidelines for submission:
- art works of all ages of artists are welcome
- submit three or four works of art
- art can range in size from small (5” x 7” or smaller ) to medium size (between 8” x 12” and 11” x 17”)
- submit digital works and their dimensions
- larger works can be accommodated if notice is given
- on a piece of paper, print your name, the title of the work, the medium used and attach to each work; these will be made into cards for each of your works
- media may include oil/acrylic/watercolor paint, fabric art, pastels, pen and ink, pencil, mixed media, photography, stained glass, wood carving, sculpture, mosaic, etc.
- send your submission information to info@tllc.org
- works should be dropped off at church on Saturday, September 20 between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
