Check Your Church Mailbox |
If your children have been in Sunday School in recent years and received a class Catechism, we will place their Catechism in your church mailbox. Also, the Sonshine Ministry will place cards in church mailboxes instead of mailing cards in the future. |

What's Your Favorite Bible Story? |
We need volunteers to help with preschool chapel! This is a low commitment ask. Preschool chapel is every Wednesday at 9:30am during the school year. Volunteer one time or join the rotation! Here are the requirements: - Have a favorite Bible Story you want to share with little people (2 years - Kindergarten).

Be creative in telling the story (sounds, video, costumes, etc.).
- You can tell the story by yourself or in a group (different voices, act out a skit, etc.)

Our next New Member Class begins Sunday, September 6 at 9:45am in the Cafe. This class is for anyone who would like to join Our Savior or anyone who would like to learn more about what we believe and teach. You will also get to hear from several of our ministry leaders about the various ministry opportunities here at OSL. Lutheran Women in Mission still needs your help collecting items for Lutheran World Relief Kits. We are collecting light-weight, dark-colored towels (about 52” X 27” in size - Walmart generally has these for around $3.00.) We also need individually wrapped 4 ounce bars of soap, any brand. Donations can be placed in the LWML cart located in the mailbox area. Thank you for your help as we work to reach our goal of 200 Personal Care Kits! You may have heard that "Pastor Thompson's email got hacked." Good news — it didn't. What actually happens is simpler, and once you know what to look for, it's easy to spot.
Scammers create a brand-new email address that just looks like it's coming from me. Usually one letter will be different or they will use a different domain. Nobody broke into our church system. They simply built a fake address and hoped you wouldn't notice the difference.
These emails often: - Ask you to buy gift cards
- Request money, personal information, or the church directory
-
Sound urgent or secretive ("I need this right away, please don't call — I'm in a meeting")
- Feel just a little "off" — the wording, the request, or the tone doesn't sound like something I'd actually ask of you
If you get one of these: - Don't reply, click links, or send anything.
- Look closely at the actual email address (not just the name shown) — it usually won't quite match mine.
- If you want to double check, call the church office directly.
- Report it as "phishing" or "spam" through your email provider (most have a simple button or menu option for this) — that helps your provider block the scammer for others too.
I will never email you out of the blue asking for money, gift cards, or personal information. When in doubt, call the office. We're always glad to help you sort it out. Pastor Thompson |

4:00pm - 7:00pm, McKinney This ministry provides access to sufficient, quality, and nutritious food, hygiene, and household goods to those in need. This time we will be unloading delivery trucks, stocking shelves and cleaning the Pantry. Meet at the Pantry, 307 Smith Street, McKinney. Questions?
