Muslims believe in one God, known as Allah, and follow the teachings of Muhammad as recorded in the Quran. Islam is one of the world's largest religions and is the dominant religion in many countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia.
The Five Pillars of Islam are a central part of the religion and include:
- Profession of Faith (shahada)
- Prayer (salat)
- Alms (zakat)
- Fasting (sawm)
- Pilgrimage (hajj)
