1 Samuel - Thursday Women's Bible Study - Fall 2024

There is no book quite like 1 Samuel.
Here’s why.
It feels personal. Most of us can put ourselves into the shoes of a desperate and heartbroken woman, or an overlooked son/sibling, or in a position we feel under qualified and unprepared for. How about the shoes of one betrayed, misunderstood, or rejected.
I bet we can appreciate shoes that get to experience a deep friendship that sustains us in the hardest seasons of life, shoes that understand loyalty and patience- courage and breaking points. You see, we get to witness God’s unexpected sovereignty in the lives of ordinary men and women living very ordinary lives- just like you and I.
God repeatedly made everyday events work for His divine purposes- Saul was looking for lost donkeys and was anointed as future king of Israel; David was delivering food to his brothers when he was given the opportunity to become Israel’s deliverer over the Philistines; Samuel, the son of a barren women, who faithfully served his way into a position of being a spiritual hero of Israel. The unexpected happened to the least expected recipients. Isn’t that just how God works?
Come join us as we study God’s character and sovereignty weaved through the pages of 1 Samuel.
